š¹ Skateboards, Saddles & September Fun in Pacific, MO š

Updated: Sep 7
Pacific has two special events coming up this Septemberāand they could hardly be more different.
First, the community will gather to dedicate a long-awaited skate park honoring a hometown hero. Then, just a few days later, the Iron Horse Rodeo will bring cowboys, cowgirls, food and family entertainment to Liberty Field.
From skateboards to saddles, here is whatās happening around Pacific.

šŗšø Jeffrey White Memorial Skate Park Dedication
On Sunday, September 13, Pacific will celebrate the grand opening of the Jeffrey White Memorial Skate Park at Pacific Community Park. The new park honors U.S. Army Specialist Jeffrey Lee White Jr., a 2008 Pacific High School graduate, Army paratrooper and passionate skateboarder.
Before joining the Army, Jeffrey and his friends skated wherever they could around Pacific and wished their hometown had a dedicated place to skate. Jeffrey enlisted in 2009 and deployed to Afghanistan in December 2011. He was killed in action on April 3, 2012, at only 21 years old. He was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart.
Beginning in 2021, Jeffreyās family, friends and community supporters worked to transform that childhood wish into a place future generations could enjoy.
The result is more than a memorial. It is a place where young people can learn, practice, make friends and experience the satisfaction of finally landing something they have worked hard to accomplish.
